Michael started his career with New York Life in April of 2004 in the Boston General Office. He found his niche working with the affluent pre-retiree marketplace helping him achieve Executive Council* 3 years in a row. In the summer of 2008 Michael was promoted to Partner and began to develop his team in the Boston area leading him to achieve several recruiting awards including Gathering of Eagles and Rookie of the Year. In the fall of 2012, Michael continued to select and develop talented men and women earning him the prestigious title of Senior Partner. In February 2013, he was named Managing Partner of the West Texas General Office, and the office has grown dramatically under his leadership. While in Lubbock, Michael led his office to an unprecedented National Trophy for “New Organization Retention” in 2014. Then in February of 2016, Michael accepted the challenge to lead one of New York Life’s flagship offices – the Illinois General Office located in Schaumburg. In 2025, Michael accepted the role to lead New York Life's Kentucky offie.

Michael is a graduate of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and holds licenses in life, Accident¹ and Health¹, FINRA Series 6, Series 63, Series 66, Series 7, and Series 24. He also maintains a managerial leadership designation, CLF®, created specifically for financial services professionals. Michael resides in Palatine, Illinois, with his wife Kristen and their daughter, Addison.

Andrew Burgess
Partner

Andrew started his professional journey with New York Life in 2019 as a Financial Services Professional in Lexington, KY with the Kentucky General Office. During his three years in that role, he built a successful practice—earning distinctions such as Career Summit, Executive Council (twice), and qualifying for MDRT*.

His drive to expand his impact led him to New York Life’s Home Office in New York City, where he served as a national-level Internal Product Consultant. In that capacity, Andrew was honored with the Internal Product Consultant of the Year award for his outstanding performance.

Eager to return to field leadership, Andrew relocated to Louisville, KY, to rejoin the Kentucky General Office—first as an Associate Partner, and shortly after, was promoted to Partner. In his current role, he has hit the ground running, finishing 4th in the South Central Zone for New Partner of the Year and leading the top-producing unit in his respective Associate Partner Cohort.

Outside of work, Andrew and his wife, Madison—high school sweethearts from Ashland, KY—have been together for over a decade and married since 2022. Now based in Louisville, they enjoy traveling to new places, attending live sporting events and concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
